World Records: Court Art Involving Measurent

This afternoon after a hectic week of Learn to Swim we ventured on to the courts to look at some unusual world records, world's biggest liger, the biggest shoe size, world's biggest snowman, the smallest dinosaur, world's biggest toad (I know a few), biggest skateboard, biggest wing span of an albatross and the world's longest human neck. Students chose their own groups and did their best to work out measurement co-ordinates and proportion. Whilst I was interested in the mathematical aspect, I was also looking at team work and students' abilities to work together, discuss and accommodate each other's ideas. We have an upcoming excursion to TMAG and so getting along and team work will be essential to make the most of this upcoming experience.
